The eagle has landed

A secret consignment of boxes arrived by truck. We hauled them up two flights of stairs and began panting very hard. After suitable recovery time, a day was spent opening, examining and positioning a large number of items. Two old ebony elephants now stare at each other from their new niches.

jj - it was a long journey for them and for me. Good to hear from you.

Illyria - ... I like and applaud the position of your apostrophe. I travelled a great distance but cannot say that I truly arrived until my pieces of me were delivered.

Wow, did it take all this time for them to arrive? Bet you feel more complete now? Hope you are doing well :-)

Where'd those elephants march from? We've got a trio family of those from Sri Lanka.

Grace - took a while didn't they... (Slow and steady, like their owner.)

Ruk - I boutght them as a pair from an antiques fair in deepest rural Somerset, Shepton Mallet to be precise. They are 9 inches tall and probably marched from India to judge by the ear size. Call me Hannibal.
