your prayers are needed

Please say prayers for my former wife Debbie. She is on the Intensive Care ward in Southampton in critical condition. Her winter chest infection turned dreadfully serious and became pneumonia with complications. A severe lung infection has battered her organs and she is under sedation while the doctors administer all the help they can.

Oh dear. I have had a run-of-the-mill chest infection fo two weeks, and my goodness, I feel very aware of how much I need my lungs. I'll sending positive vibes to her and the children.

Which continent are you on this Christmas?

Oh I am sorry to hear that. I will keep you all in my thoughts. I hope you are doing well apart from that news on your return.

Gordie - I will be spending Christmas with my sons in England. Luckily for most of us a winter chest infection is more or less easily shrugged off but in some cases the circumstances make it potentially fatal. She is in the care of the doctors and thanks for your thoughts.

Grace - Being back has brought conflicting emotions and I will try not to do anything hasty.

Grace - thanks for asking. I'm finding the cultural shock harder than expected. I miss my life in Canada. Soon I hope to have clearer plans for the way 2009 will unfold.

Try to fill today with appropriate rituals. "Meet you in the next one, don't be late"

Gordie - "today" is always a hard one to enjoy. I'm always thinking about "tomorrow."

Michelle - yes there'e better news now. She is receiving less intervention every day and had regained consciousness. I think it will be a long road to recovery.

Patry - thank you for taking time from your own huge battle to spread care. Very besy wishes to you too.

Sorry to hear this Paul. Not ood news at all. If it is any help or consolation, Jasmine, my wife, has twice had pneumonia and, although she now seems to have a weakness in her chest, she recovered. Keep your chin up mate.

CJ - thanks my friend, that's good to hear. It's perhaps fortuitous that I am in the country right now. See you soon-ish.
