Carl Barat

Just before midnight yesterday I lost 5 pounds in sweated weight and was crushed on the ground. I saw Dirty Pretty Things and wrote about it on Music to Grow Old.

If that is what it is going to take for me to drop a couple extra pounds then so be it. Off to see someone in concert......

JJ - weight loss the rock n' roll way! Thanks for your nice comments, I appreciate your words. The hacking cough I've had for the past week or so has given me a pain in the chest (or it could have been from an elbow in the ribs...) Nothing serious, just the remains of "man-flu!"

Finn - I took the pic with my digital along with 3 or 4 others. I quickly realised there was no chance of decent photos so slipped the little rascal in my back pocket and settled for the blurry stuff.

CJ - Thanks for your message about the review. The experience was awesome and the skittish snapshots are pretty much what I recall seeing.

Neetee - thanks for your kind comments older sibling! I am glad to see rock and roll is alive and well on the West Coast...

Silvermoon - I was genuinely crushed and the pain is stabbing. I had overlooked that a crowd of tightly packed human beings weighs a very great deal. Glad you were eventually able to track down some worthwhile Mall music but sorry you were not able to be where you wanted to be.

Boulies - so I cannot tempt you dive headlong into a seething crowd? okay, fair enough :) I'll write about last night's soon and you can live it from afar.

Silvermoon - yes it was a full blown mosh pit designed for indestructible 18 year olds. It was of the high rather than low spirited variety but there is a dagger in my ribs and I can't breath fully. The notion of my father doing that at my age or indeed as a youth of any age is laughable. How the behaviour of generations changes...

Cloudsville, Sky City, Blue County - quite a pleasant future address. Yesterday evening I headed the bike through swarms of insects to walking country and after a long climb, pulled off my leathers and lay on top of a huge hill hearing sheep bleat.

Patry - I went in already the shape of a racing snake and came out like a greased eel!
